Helping Children Thrive

Personalized Therapy Plans for Children’s Speech, Language, Motor, Self Care, and Sensory Needs

Our commitment to your child's growth begins with an assessment of your child’s speech, language and occupational therapy needs. From these insights a comprehensive therapy plan is formulated, ensuring a tailored approach to meet the child's specific objectives. Engaging and evidence-based, our play based therapy sessions are designed to cover all areas of concern.

Assessment

Our experienced therapists conduct thorough assessments, including standardized testing, developmental history, and clinical observations. These tailored evaluations, conducted over one or multiple sessions, identify areas of difficulty. Together, we will review results and provide a comprehensive written report with goals, objectives, and supplemental therapy strategies.

Therapy Plan

Based on the assessment results, we create a personalized therapy plan that addresses your child's specific speech, language, and occupational needs. This plan outlines the goals, strategies, and activities that will be used during therapy sessions.

Therapy Sessions

Therapy is play based and designed to engage the child so they become an active participant in the therapy process. Your child is made to feel at ease so they begin working on areas of concern in a stress free, comfortable environment.

Therapy objectives are targeted as we engage in fun activities such as sensory activities, motor movement, art projects, music and games. Activities are kept simple and motivating so your child can focus their resources on improving their speech, language, and occupational skills. Functional ideas are also provided so you can practice at home to improve generalization of learned skills.

Progress Monitoring

Throughout the therapy process, we continuously monitor your child's progress and make adjustments to their therapy plan as needed. We believe in open communication with families and providing regular updates on your child's achievements and areas for improvement.

Your child may be also be receiving other therapies from school services and/or private therapists. Ongoing communication will be implemented between all members of your child’s team via communication notebooks, emails, phone calls and meetings to ensure coordination of care.

We have been lucky enough to work with Susan on a regular basis doing music therapy. The change in my child on just her first visit brought me to tears. Susan is magical and so tuned into the kids and what they are doing and what they need. She is quick to understand things the children love and quickly adapts to help them learn and adjust through music. My daughter loves to play with Susan’s guitar and shakers! The improvement in my daughter’s ability to use her language and her confidence since starting music therapy has been amazing!

Our son has been seeing Ann Adams since early on in his apraxia diagnosis, when he was just 2 years old. He is now a very chatty 7 year old and our experience with Ann has been life changing. Her support, knowledge, expertise and advocacy have always been above and beyond that of any professional in our apraxia journey. She has guided us through not only speech and language development, but also through anatomical findings while in her care that have been majorly beneficial to our son and his life. For example, Ann noticed a potential aspiration issue and tongue tie that we had evaluated in Boston, per her suggestion and with her support. Turns out, he WAS aspirating and DOES have a tongue tie. All issues we were able to correct and address. Without Ann, we would not have “seen” those issues ourselves, and our pediatrician would never have been aware. Our SON (and we) adore her. Her demeanor is kind, patient and gentle, yet highly efficient. 10/10 experience in her care. She has been a gift in our lives.

Ann has been a blessing to our family! Over the past 6 years, all three of my children have had the opportunity to work with her, with some continuing to do so. Ann has a unique ability to engage with children and tailor her approach to meet them where they are, ensuring successful treatment and helping them achieve their goals. As a mother, she's also incredibly approachable and provides invaluable feedback and suggestions for ongoing progress both at home and in real-life situations. If you're seeking a speech and language pathologist who can truly make a difference in your child's life, Ann Adams is the one to turn to!
